Queens Village Library
The library I usually go to is the Queens Village library.
I like how the library is near my house and is easily accessible by public transportation. I also like how the surrounding grass and trees adds some color to the exterior. Another positive is how there is a kid's room inside separated with glass doors to lessen the sound.
I dislike how the exterior is very dull colored. The library's entrance looks uninviting. As for the inside, I dislike how there are only eight computers available and they are usually occupied. The library has few tables and seating for studying and reading. Another downside is that the library is not handicap accessible. Lastly, the library is closed on the weekend.

- this is a library that is near where i live called the flushing library. in this library it contains approximately 300,000 books. What I like about this library is that it is close to my house and its quiet inside and has sections of places for teens to be in.what i don't like about this place is that when i want to go find a seat at the third floor where its nice there isn't any seat left

corona 104street library
LandScape Info written by Michael Ding
- Through my research I've realized that when people think about using landscape to build a library, they always think about "green." As if nature is a must-have for landscape for a library. In some ways I agree with that and below are some landscapes I think would be nice for a library.
- The landscapes above are the landscapes of the public libraries in Santa Monica. Original pictures posted by Peter Gisolfi. I believe these are the type of natural landscapes we expect to find when constructing a library. It is full of "green" and brings a sense of peace and unity when at a library.
- As much as I like nature, I don't like the fact that where there's trees and plants, there are bugs. Using pesticides aren't healthy so thats out of the question. Thus as society advance, the design of libraries should advance as well.
- The library above is a library under construction downtown. I find this design quite intresting because of it's dome shape and a type of unique blend. We can see in the background tall buildings and skyscrapers and this dome-shaped library stands out among the bulding.
- Makng a library stand out among other buildings that should be a key factor as well.
- My opinion of the library near me.
- I live near east flushing library therefore thats the library I go to most of the time.
- I don't like how the libraries so small, and when I want a book, they normally don't have it.
- The bulding looks very old, basically said ugly. It looks like it's from the 1900's and im sure it is. Thus making it even less attracting. It's also near the high way and you hear noises you don't want to hear.
- The only thing I like about the library is probably that it's near and a pretty cozy place if Im going to work there.
Thanks for Reading

First Meeting Activity
The Sphere Exercise -
Team 8 was broken up into five groups. Each team member worked together for the first time to design a armature that would suspend a 6 inch sphere at least 3 inches off the ground by using up to 15 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" size paper and Scotch Tape. Each team had 60 minutes to design and construct their structure. As time concluded, each team selected a Team Representative to present their finish product. In addition to presenting how the design evolved each team was required to describe what the intend use of the design would be.
